The four distinctive CRJ Series models, CRJ550, CRJ700, CRJ900 and CRJ1000 give operators a choice or combination of aircraft to suit their specific needs, from hub expansion to point-to-point services. And because the CRJ Series airplanes benefit from up to 97% parts commonality and a common type rating for pilots, operators can grow their fleets while saving substantially on operations and infrastructure.

The largest member of the CRJ Series family of regional jets, the CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft was officially launched on February 19, 2007 to meet the requirements of regional airlines for increased capacity and lower seat-mile costs in the face of sustained higher fuel prices.

The CRJ Series is the first and only regional aircraft to offer a PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility) Lavatory option. Easily accessible for everyone on board, it provides more headroom and more floor space, making it a hospitable space for all passengers, bright and stylish with a window for natural light.

The CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft's flight test program was conducted from the Bombardier Flight Test Center in Wichita, Kansas, and the flight test aircraft accumulated approximately 1,400 flight hours in 470 test missions. The prototype CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft, serial number 19991, successfully made its inaugural flight from Bombardier's facility in Mirabel, Québec on September 3, 2008.

The CRJ NextGen family of aircraft is a benchmark for regional jet efficiency in the 60- to 100-seat segment and is the optimized solution for medium-haul applications. Bombardier has recorded firm orders for a total of 1,709 CRJ Series aircraft.

As of July 31, 2010, 1,597 of these CRJ Series aircraft had been delivered to customers around the world. CRJ Series aircraft are in service with more than 60 airlines and have logged more than 28 million flight hours and over 23 million take-off and landing cycles.

Contemporary Design

The CRJ1000 NextGen airliner adds to the proud tradition of the original ground-breaking 50-passenger CRJ100/200, 70-passenger CRJ700, 75-passenger CRJ705 and 88-passenger CRJ900 regional jets. All models have Same Type Rating, in addition to common maintenance and training, spares and ground support equipment, providing the only true family of jetliners spanning 50 to 100 seats.

The Bombardier CRJ-1000 is a medium-range, narrow-body passenger aircraft equipped with two turbojet engines. The CRJ 1000 aircraft has an elongated body, reaching 39.1 m and a height of 7.13 m. The fuselage diameter is standard for this airliner range - 2.9 m.

ATMOSPHÈRE features connectivity solutions that keep passengers in touch with internet connectivity, plus on board WI-FI streaming of content such as music, movies and TV shows. Also, the in-seat power will allow them to keep their devices fully charged when they travel with the CRJ Series.

The larger economy class bins accommodate oversized bags that are 40% larger than the typical airline dimensions which allows passengers to have more free living space at their seat.
